POPE JOHN XXIII

Pope John XXIII was born Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli at Sotto il Monte, Italy, in the Diocese of Bergamo on 25 November 1881. He was the fourth in a family of 14. The family worked as sharecroppers. It was a patriarchal family in the sense that the families of two brothers lived together, headed by his great-uncle Zaverio, who had never married and whose wisdom guided the work and other business of the family. Zaverio was Angelo's godfather, and to him he always attributed his first and most fundamental religious education. The religious atmosphere of his family and the fervent life of the parish, under the guidance of Fr Francesco Rebuzzini, provided him with training in the Christian life.

He entered the Bergamo seminary in 1892. Here he began the practice of making spiritual notes, which he continued in one form or another until his death, and which have been gathered together in the Journal a Soul. Here he also began the deeply cherished practice of regular spiritual direction. In 1896 he was admitted to the Secular Franciscan Order by the spiritual director of the Bergamo seminary, Fr Luigi Isacchi; he made a profession of its Rule of life on 23 May 1897...more>>

Pojoba:Dr John Awah, C.E.O, Korle Bu Medical Center, Chicago

Dr. Awah graduated from University of Ghana in 1988. He had a postgraduate training in Internal Medicine in Great Britain, and then at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. Board certified in 2000 in Internal Medicine, he now has his own Private Practice, in Chicago. He is on staff in Advocate Trinity Hospital, Illinois Masonic Hospital and Mt. Sinai Hospital where he is a Teaching Attending. Dr. Awah is strong advocate for raising awareness of preventable diseases such as Osteoporosis and Obesity. He has written many newspaper articles in NoirWoman, Chicago communicator, to name a few. He is also involved in community education. He had a program on Chicago Area Network (CAN TV) as “Doctor in the house”. He has made several TV appearances both in Ghana and Chicago discussing important health issues. He has also been on several humanitarian Health Missions with a team of health professionals from USA to Ghana providing free medical care to thousands of poor people. He has exceptional skills in cosmetics laser therapy which aimed at clients who want to look youthful. He has a great passion for golf.

Dr Awah hosts Pojoba
Pojoba in Accra and it's environs were given a warm treat at Dr. Awah's joint Fogo de chao located at Haatso on the Atomic road
The meeting brought together old boys of almost all the generations who mingled and interacted in a highly cordial manner.Pojoba national president Dr. Charway as well as many other prominent old boys showed up at the meeting.

Funeral Announcement

The funeral of Pojoba Selorm Yaw Gakpo ,Entertainment Prefect, 2000/2001 comes off this Saturday the 26th of september 2009 at the Ghana International Trade Fair Center,La Accra at 8:00am. We urge you all to come in your numbers to support the family.

BOOST FOR PROJECT
A member of the PTA has donated 90000 US dollars to complete the library project.
The project had for sometime been brought to a halt due to lack of funds.
It's time for us to also do our part. We will also be posting donation ideas for each department .
Our school needs us let us get into the ship and set sail
